All I hear is Blog, Blog, Blog...

After reviewing many of the things from this session, I think that overall, blogs allow people/ students to work collaboratively, share their work with a wider audience, and potentially expand the walls of their classrooms or office to express their thoughts. There are different settings that many blogs offer, which can facilitate setting parameters for students and limiting or expanding how the blog can be viewed by others.

  1. Caroline, how do you plan to use blogs within your classroom and which type of blog would be most successful with your students? For example, do you think different students, like those taking AP would benefit more or less from a blog than other students? While I do believe that blogging will facilitate collaboration amongst students, I still wonder if most students will only blog because it is a class assignment to do so and not because they want to expand their knowledge base or consult with others. I think that there is a good chance that many students would enjoy blogging more on subjects of interest rather than required projects and assignments.
